Joel Goldes: The Dialect Coach

"A great confidence-builder." -- Jim Broadbent, Oscar-winning actor

I'm Joel Goldes, a dialect coach in Los Angeles of 16 years experience that coaches all accents, like British, Irish, French, Australian, German, Mexican, Southern, and Brooklyn, as well as less common accents like Welsh, South African, Thai and hundreds more. I can coach you in any dialect of English spoken on the globe. I'm available to prep for auditions or productions, on-set and ADR dialect coaching.

I've coached actors like Jim Broadbent, Nicolas Cage, Julia Ormond, Samantha Morton, Mike Myers, Jennifer Garner, Jason Isaacs, Ryan Phillippe and many others.

I'm also expert at teaching the American accent to actors and corporate professsionals who want to be better understood or sound like they grew up in the US. This is sometimes called accent reduction: I refer to it as learning a regionless or neutral American accent. (More about Joel)

NEWS: Trans-Atlantic ADR session with Julia Ormond (more....)
May 2008: I spent the wee hours of the weekend on the phone to London, patched in to GoldCrest Post, coaching my client Julia Ormond in her modified Mid-Atlantic accent for her role as reporter Lisa Howard in Steven Soderbergh's film, Guerilla. The film is being prepped for its world premiere shortly at the Cannes Film Festival, and I got to be a fly on the wall (fly in the ear?) as the actors re-recorded dialogue for scenes in the ADR (Automated Digital Recording) studio. In the scenes we worked on, Ms. Ormond's character is interviewing Che Guevara (played by Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro) about his role in the Cuban Revolution.
